April Lockhart
April Lockhart, born in 1995 on the 4th of July. She began lessons on piano and guitar at age seven. Her interest in creating songs was sparked. When she was in seventh grade she began to take piano and guitar lessons. This ignited her interest in songwriting. At 14 April, she spent a lot of time writing lyrics and perfecting her music abilities. In the following months, April started to take trips across NY and LA with her Dad to help them write songs. April started to include other subjects in the book, Take My Hand, for those of her peers who struggled with peer pressure, disabilities or even suicidal thoughts. Lockhart is a popular figure and is a lifestyle blogger at the well-known Ilia clean beauty brand. As a woman born with no left hand, Lockhart is a major part of herself. But it's not the entire tale. Lockhart doesn't deny her disability in her posts on Instagram, however she does not make it the main focus of the post. What's the message? The message? We are all multifaceted, and that our identities and physical bodies aren't what they seem. Lockhart says in a video interview with Lockhart in a video interview "I am not convinced that my physical appearance will define my character. My goal is not to have an impact on disability, because I've many more things to contribute." It doesn't impact my day-to-day life I do every day as normal and have found my own method of adjusting to things. It's a big part of my life, therefore it's important to discuss the subject. Her journey to self-acceptance will be one that lasts a lifetime, but she can be a role model for this purpose. Yet, she confesses that she has had periods when she felt uncomfortable with her appearance, and the clothes that showed her arms. She wears what she likes and is proud to post pictures of herself dressed in outfits she wears on social media. The key to self-love for her is the fact that it's not a place to go. It's a fact that I see common to everyone regardless of what they are struggling with. I think it is important to be around people who can really understand your.
